Specialist consultations
Specialist consultations are by appointment only, but in case of emergency, it is almost always possible to be seen the same day. This means that patients with pre-scheduled appointments may have to wait if there are emergencies, but we believe this service is an important safeguard for all our patients.
If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so online if you booked it through our online system, or by calling the secretary’s office at least 24 hours in advance. This will allow other patients to take advantage of the freed-up slot.
Specialist consultants availability
If one of our specialists is unavailable, our secretaries can assist you in finding a suitable substitute, either within or outside the Aventino Medical Group. If you require a specialist not currently affiliated with our group, please do not hesitate to ask for our advice. One of our physicians will be happy to recommend a specialist tailored to your specific needs based on our experience.
Phone Calls
To avoid peak hours, please try to call outside of 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM for routine inquiries. When we are with a patient, our secretaries will take your message and we will return your call as soon as possible, usually on the same day. Please do not ask our staff to interrupt a consultation unless it is a true emergency.
Doctors’ Fees
We’re a private clinic and don’t work with the NHS. We generally maintain moderate fees and, in cases of genuine patient need, we are able to offer reduced rates. We kindly request that patients settle their fees at the time of the visit. At our medical center, the following payment methods are accepted:

Health Insurance
Direct Billing We have direct billing agreements with the following insurance providers: Cigna (employees covered: F.A.O. (480), I.C.C.R.O.M. (480/ICC), I.F.A.D. (476), W.F.P. (477 and 478)). Please bring your Cigna card to verify your coverage.
HTH/GeoBlue: upon prior receipt of Guarantee of Payment (GOP). Healix: for British Embassy employees, with a form pre-filled by the patient.
Non-Direct Billing For insurance companies with which we do not have a direct billing agreement, payment must be made in full to our secretary. You can then submit the invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are continually evaluating the possibility of establishing new agreements with other insurance providers.
Cigna Insurance
Cigna Coverage Covered employees: F.A.O. (480), I.C.C.R.O.M. (480/ICC), I.F.A.D. (476), W.F.P. (477 and 478).
Direct Billing Direct billing is available for both medical consultations and most other services provided during your visit (injections, ECG, Pap test, spirometry, cryotherapy, etc.). With direct billing, you will pay a 20% co-pay to the secretary. If you have additional coverage for this 20%, we will provide you with an invoice for reimbursement.
Specialists with Direct Billing The following specialists have a direct billing agreement with Cigna: Drs. Bezzeccheri, Bianconi, Bresciani, Caggiati, Capozzoli, Coen, Cornacchia, De Arcangelis, Gestraud, Gregori, Groff, Lenzi, Levenstein, Maccioni, Martinelli, Mascolo, Matteucci, Nataloni, Périssé (medical consultations only), Scribano, Shashaj, Soreca, and Zannoni.
Specialists Without Direct Billing The following specialists do not have a direct billing agreement with Cigna: Drs. Bergamaschi Marsella, Blondeel, Gianfreda, Giorgini, Khazrai, Naumann, Périssé (psychological consultations), Pratelli, Quagliata, and Vinci. For visits with these specialists, you will need to pay the full fee at the secretary’s office and submit the invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement.
