- As a pediatric infectious disease specialist, he established and directed Italy’s first operational unit for Acquired Immunodeficiencies (AIDS) in the 1990s, co-founding the PENTA international research network alongside European infectious disease experts
- Former Head of Pediatrics in Palidoro and Director of the Vaccination Center. Currently collaborates with the Bambino Gesù Institute for Child and Adolescent Health, focusing on prevention and medical-scientific dissemination
- Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Pediatric Nursing Degree Program at the University of Rome – Tor Vergata
- Active in international medical cooperation projects for the United Nations, European Community, and in countries such as Romania, Congo, Libya, Central America, and Tanzania
